There's a lot of talent returning, including four 20+ match winners and a 31-match winner, sprinkled throughout the lineup to compliment a mix of returning starters and promising newcomers that should give the Hornets a solid lineup in 2016.
Starting at the bottom, Abhay Sampat returns at 106, and after picking up 21 wins as a junior, could be a sleeper for a big season as a senior wrestling in the 106-slot. Also down low is junior Troy Gallo, who had a big 2015 with 28 wins, and sophomore Zach Wolf, who recorded 9 wins in limited action as a frosh. One freshman looking to make an impact down low will be Troy's younger brother, Dean, who has the potential to put up a 20-win rookie campaign.
Six starters return from 145-up, among them are Garrett Hilsheimer, who won 28 matches and qualified for the Regions after placing 3rd in the Districts. Joining Hilsheimer are returning lettermen, senior SJ Merhi, juniors Chris Ammiratti (24 wins) and Seamus Wood (18 wins), and the sophomore duo of Johnny O'Beirne (13 wins) and Scott Dupont, who had a fantastic freshman season where he picked up 31 wins. The group is also bolstered by the returns of Ryan Joffe and Alex Lamberti, who were not with the team last season, but have previous varsity experience.
The Hornets have a lot of hard-working talent in the lineup that knows how to win. If they continue their winning ways, and the new faces in the lineup chip in, this is a team that can surpass their win total of 13 from a year ago, and make a push to qualify for the Sectionals. On the individual front, there are quite a few guys here that are capable of making noise come late February. If things break right, this is a team that could be very well-represented in the Region 6 tournament.

There's a lot of talent returning, including four 20+ match winners and a 31-match winner, sprinkled throughout the lineup to compliment a mix of returning starters and promising newcomers that should give the Hornets a solid lineup in 2016.
Starting at the bottom, Abhay Sampat returns at 106, and after picking up 21 wins as a junior, could be a sleeper for a big season as a senior wrestling in the 106-slot. Also down low is junior Troy Gallo, who had a big 2015 with 28 wins, and sophomore Zach Wolf, who recorded 9 wins in limited action as a frosh. One freshman looking to make an impact down low will be Troy's younger brother, Dean, who has the potential to put up a 20-win rookie campaign.
Six starters return from 145-up, among them are Garrett Hilsheimer, who won 28 matches and qualified for the Regions after placing 3rd in the Districts. Joining Hilsheimer are returning lettermen, senior SJ Merhi, juniors Chris Ammiratti (24 wins) and Seamus Wood (18 wins), and the sophomore duo of Johnny O'Beirne (13 wins) and Scott Dupont, who had a fantastic freshman season where he picked up 31 wins. The group is also bolstered by the returns of Ryan Joffe and Alex Lamberti, who were not with the team last season, but have previous varsity experience.
The Hornets have a lot of hard-working talent in the lineup that knows how to win. If they continue their winning ways, and the new faces in the lineup chip in, this is a team that can surpass their win total of 13 from a year ago, and make a push to qualify for the Sectionals. On the individual front, there are quite a few guys here that are capable of making noise come late February. If things break right, this is a team that could be very well-represented in the Region 6 tournament.
